Creating Your First Hazard Map
Hazard maps in NVES provide a visual representation of environmental risks at your project sites. Here's how to create one.
Accessing the Map
From your dashboard, all projects with GPS coordinates are automatically plotted on the interactive map. The map uses color-coded markers to indicate contamination status.
Map Controls
- Zoom — Use the +/- buttons or scroll wheel to zoom in and out
- Pan — Click and drag to move around the map
- Layer Toggle — Switch between satellite imagery and street map views
- Filters — Show/hide markers based on project status or risk level
Adding Markers
When you create a new project with GPS coordinates, a marker is automatically added to the map. You can also click directly on the map when creating a project to set coordinates.
Marker Details
Click any marker to view a popup with:
- Project name and status
- Contamination level
- Last updated date
- Quick link to the full project details
