How the Compliance Wizard Works
The NVES Compliance Wizard uses a database-driven decision tree to guide you through environmental regulatory requirements specific to your project's characteristics.
Decision Tree Architecture
The wizard is built on a flowchart of interconnected nodes. Each node represents either a question to answer, an action to take, or a final endpoint with compliance recommendations.
Node Types
- Question Nodes — Present a Yes/No question. Your answer determines the next node in the sequence.
- Action Nodes — Display information or instructions with a "Continue" button to proceed.
- Endpoint Nodes — Final nodes that summarize compliance requirements and recommended actions.
The Flow
- Select or create a project to assess
- The wizard loads the first question node
- Answer each question based on your project's specifics
- The system follows the decision tree to the appropriate next node
- Repeat until you reach an endpoint with your compliance summary
Data-Driven Accuracy
The decision tree is maintained by environmental compliance experts and updated regularly to reflect changes in BC and federal regulations. Administrators can modify the flowchart through the admin panel.
